This is The Cat & Dog Page, where I will teach you a few things about those animals.
1: A dog breed I find interesting is the Chinese Created Dog, because it has SEXY HAIR!!! Just look at this dog's hair! (I say sexy as a joke, of course.)
2: Cats and dogs have unique nose prints, just like human fingerprints.
3:nA "cat video" from 1894 is believed to be the first cat video ever made. (It's not a normal cat video, though.)

4: A popular urban legend on "cat fact" pages is that Isaac Newton invented the pet door for his alleged cat, "Spithead", because he wanted the cat to not open the door and ruin light-sensitive experiments. Another version goes he had two holes made, one big one for adult cats and one small one for kittens, somehow without realising the kittens could easily fit through the big hole.
Historians have different views on what kind of relationship he had with animals. Legend has it he had a dog named Diamond, who set fire to his research papers when he/she knocked over a candle. This is one of several ancedotes.
Since the references to "Spithead" pretty much only include the cat flap references, it appears even less likely he owned a cat.
But who came up with the modern pet door, with, well, a door? That's when I tried my hand at finding the earliest patent for a pet door.?
The earliest parent I could find on Google Patents is a patent filed by someone named Jean Tsakpinies of France, back in 1947. There's no other information other than the title, which is simply "Pet Door," and this Tsakpenies person has no other information associated with (him.) https://patents.google.com/patent/FR942941A/
So there you have it, the modern pet door was possibly invented by some unknown frog leg eating nobody back in 1947.
5: Small dogs may be more likely to bite and be aggressive than larger dogs. Small Dog Syndrome is a series of behaviours that would not typically be accepted if larger dogs performed the same behaviours. Behaviours can include jumping up at people, climbing over people, barking at visitors, demanding food and aggression towards other dogs.
Since small dogs are thought of as being cute and considered less threatening, owners may unintentionally reward behaviours characteristic of Small Dog Syndrome.
The human equivalent to Small Dog Syndrome is called the Napoleon Complex.
6: Some people own exotic pets such as lions and tigers, though they usually require special licences to own, if it is even possible, legally or otherwise, to obtain such animals. Taking care of a tiger, for example, is an extreme responsibility compared to a regular feline.
This page provides a list of big cats that can be kept as pets.

7: People tend to assume that when a dog is wagging his tail, that means the dog is happy, but tail wagging is more complex than that. For example, when dogs are in positive situations, such as encountering their owner, they will typically wag their tails to the right. If a dog is faced with a more stressful situation, such as encountering an unfamiliar dog, they will typically wag to the left.
8: The notion that dogs see only black and white presumably came from a study back in 1937 by dog lover Will Judy. Will Judy believed, based on his findings, that dogs likely saw the world only in shades of gray.
However, much later studies have shown that dogs have dichromatic colour vision, they can see yellow and blue. In fact, it is now believed that most mammals have dichromatic colour vision.
